This policy explains what data Jigsawyer ("the app") collects, why, and how it's used. Jigsawyer does not require an account or ask for your name, email, or any personal contact information to play.
Anonymous device identifier. On first launch, the app generates a random identifier for your device (Android: the device's ANDROID_ID; iOS: a random ID stored in Keychain). This identifier survives app reinstalls but is not tied to your name, email, or any account, and cannot be used to identify you personally. It is used solely to associate your leaderboard scores and profile (nickname, avatar) with your device across sessions.
Nickname and avatar. The app auto-generates a nickname (e.g. "Fox 482") and lets you pick an avatar. These are stored on your device and, together with your device identifier, on our servers, so your leaderboard identity persists across reinstalls. You may change your nickname and avatar at any time in the app.
Gameplay and leaderboard data. Puzzle completion times and scores are sent to our servers (Google Firebase/Firestore) and displayed on public leaderboards alongside your nickname and avatar. No other gameplay data is collected.
Advertising data. Jigsawyer shows ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as your advertising ID) and usage data to serve and measure ads, and may use this data consistent with Google's own privacy policy. You can review and manage ad personalization in your device's OS settings. If you purchase the "Remove Ads" in-app item, ads (and this data collection) stop.
Purchases. The one-time "Remove Ads" purchase is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment details.
Notifications. If you enable the optional daily puzzle reminder, it is scheduled and delivered entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to or stored on our servers.
Jigsawyer does not access your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or photos, and does not use push notifications. We do not currently use any analytics or crash-reporting service.
We do not sell your data. Gameplay/leaderboard data (device identifier, nickname, avatar, scores) is stored on Google Firebase infrastructure we control. Advertising data is shared with Google AdMob as described above. Daily puzzle photos are sourced from Pexels; no user data is shared with Pexels.
Leaderboard data is retained until you request deletion. To request deletion of your device identifier, nickname, avatar, and scores, contact us at the email below with your in-app nickname; we'll locate and remove the associated record.
Jigsawyer is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We may update this policy as the app changes. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
